The Ministry of Education’s 7th “My Future, My Choice” Campus Anti-Drug and Anti-Bullying Video Contest and the 2024 Award Ceremony for Outstanding Educational Institutions in Preventing Student Substance Abuse was held on September 13, 2025, at the National Central Library’s Multi-Function Hall. Chung Shan Medical University (CSMU) stood out among more than 150 universities nationwide, as the Student Affairs team was highly recognized for its outstanding achievements in drug abuse prevention education. CSMU was honored with the MOE’s Award for Excellence in Preventing Student Substance Abuse, highlighting the university’s long-term dedication and efforts in this crucial field.
Over the years, CSMU has actively promoted anti-drug education through poster exhibitions and social media competitions, presenting the dangers of substance abuse in ways that are more engaging and accessible to students. The university has also integrated anti-drug advocacy into departmental career counseling visits and USR (University Social Responsibility) projects, extending education into future workplaces and local communities. In addition, CSMU’s affiliated hospital provides professional toxicology testing services and has expanded consultation support to parents and adolescents. The university also collaborates with institutions such as the National Museum of Natural Science, the Customs Administration, and local health bureaus to organize diverse outreach programs, building a cross-sector, comprehensive prevention network.
CSMU emphasized that its anti-drug initiatives extend beyond the campus. By combining educational exhibitions, community engagement, clinical testing, and cross-institutional collaboration, the university has established a multifaceted and solid promotional network. Looking ahead, CSMU will continue to strengthen substance abuse prevention education, work closely with professional organizations, enhance students’ ability to identify and resist tobacco and drugs, foster correct medication knowledge, and cultivate a proactive sense of community care—ultimately creating a learning environment that values human dignity and respects life.
